Servitude to Allah can only be realised through prayer. In the Prayer, the slave (‘abd) meets his Lord (Rabb); it is He Whom he worships, and (because the one who worships and obeys only Allaah will be opposed and fought) it is He only from Whom he seeks help. It is only from Him that he seeks guidance. With that, he is filled with a light from His Lord, by which he steers his way through life.
